I recently assisted my friend who had to take a bunch of kids to the Kentish town city farm, and I must say, I had a really good time there. It was very different from the usual eat outs and picnic spots I go to -- so much that it was actually a refreshing change.
This farm located at the Cressfield Close was developed to serve the educational and recreational interests of children, young people, and even those with special needs.
We visited the place during the weekend when the farm offers pony rides for children. Though the place is not very big -- four and a half acres to be exact -- you can see a wide range of poultry, livestock, and beautiful horses, including some rare breeds.
The children loved feeding the goats and the sheep. The farm also has a number of classrooms and activity rooms along with gardens, stables and seating areas. Those looking out for a different yet educational day out with their kids should definitely give this place a try.
